Can somebody tell me if it is absolutely necessary to load the following
components into Windows XP:
1) Microsoft .NET Framework,
2) Microsoft Silverlight,
3) Microsoft SQL Server,
4) Microsoft Virtual PC,
5) Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express,
6) Microsoft Visual C++, and
7) Microsoft Visual Studio?
 
If they aren't necessary at all, Can I eliminate them from the PC? How?
 

My answer is what is the PC being used for? We have XP machines here for
automation, and some of those components are required for our system to
work properly. I feel there needs to be more info before we can say what
can be ruled out.

For sure, I would keep 1 and 2. Everything else depends on what the
purpose of the machine is.
