I haven't dealt with that particular unit yet, but typically speaking,
when it shows a low LO (Local Oscillator?) alarm this could cause the
AFC to unlock causing the transmitter to mute.
Of course this begs the question as to whether this is an active alarm
or just something in the history.
The Demod unlocks, can be anything from the transmitter to the receiver
including the PATH. You need to verify all normal readings and monitor
the times that this happens look for any patterns. What is your received
signal. Where is this unit? There has been quite a bit of ducting and
other atmospheric stuff going on lately here in Florida, but I don't
know about your location.
The main indicator is the receive level, are you getting the BER hits
with a high signal or a low signal?
There are so many things that can cause STL troubles it's hard to cover
them all without writing a book. Sometimes it's best if you aren't
experienced in this area, to have another set of "STL" eyes come look at
things.
